Exploring Tenerife – Spain
If you love nothing more than spending a week or two in a destination that’s packed to the gunwales with things to see and do, where you can be amazed by diverse sights and sounds and enjoy new experiences every day, Tenerife should be right up your street.
Contrary to what you might think, holidays in Tenerife aren’t all about clubbing and flopping out on the beach. Of course if this is what you love, then this sun-baked island is happy to oblige. In the bustling resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, you’ll find an abundance of lively nightspots covering everything from all-night parties and chic wine bars to karaoke joints and Seventies nights. By night, you can party til the sun comes up and by day, you can snooze on the beach under the hot sun, ready to do it all over again that night!
But if you’re not here for the pubs and clubs, you’ll find a long list of things to amaze and enthrall you. Nature-lovers simply cant miss the gorgeous National Park a sprawling expanse of wide-open spaces that combines Alpine-like scenery and whispering forests with bizarre volcanic landscapes and barren lava fields. The star of the show is of course Mount Teide itself a soaring mountain and a dormant volcano that provides dramatic views from the summit.
Head further north, and you’ll find the bustling city of Santa Cruz. Travel in a westerly direction along the coast from Santa Cruz and you’ll be treated to spectacular scenery, with dramatic cliff tops and gorgeous sea views.
However you choose to spend your holiday in Tenerife, there are plenty of ways to get there. You could travel with a tour operator or organize your own low-cost flights and hotel and hire a car on arrival. Whatever you do, Tenerife is a fabulous destination that’s just made for exploring. Enjoy
