Packing tips for your travels
Welcome to the world of travel! There are so many places to go to, see and experience. It can be very exciting! No doubt, you want to make the best of your time away from home! Here are some handy packing tips which will mean you won’t over pack and you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips:
For a short trip of 3 days or less limit the amount of luggage you take on your trip to a carry-on bag. Luggage has a nasty habit of getting lost in airports. Even if it does not get lost, you often spend an annoying amount of time waiting for it to show up on the luggage carrousel. Limiting the luggage you take to a single carry-on bag will eliminate this problem entirely. When packing toiletries for your carry-on, make sure to follow the 3-1-1 rule (3 oz bottles, 1 quart-sized Ziploc per passenger). Having your toiletries ready to go in a designated bag will make getting through security a breeze and have you on your way to your destination in no time.
When packing for a longer trip try to keep your belongings as light as possible to reduce the amount of tension on your back. The last thing that you will want is to have to transport heavy bags from one place to another with items that you do not need. Stay practical to optimize your traveling experience. When packing clothes for different climates think about layers rather than big bulky items, you can be just as warm and comfortable with 3 thin layers as you would be with a big fleece and if the weather gets warm again you won’t be baking in your arctic garb.
Invest in a waterproof wallet. You no doubt need your wallet and its contents safe. While traveling, it can be easy to forget about what you have in your pockets. Having a waterproof wallet is a great idea for anyone who plans on going to the ocean or sitting poolside. However if you are lucky enough to be in Australia it wont be a problem as the aussie dollar is waterproof- haven’t they got things right?
Another weird but great tip that I recently read about is to pack a shoe organizer that goes over the door. Once you check in to your hotel, hang the organizer over the door, and you will have everything at your fingertips. A clear plastic one is your best bet. This is the most helpful item to have when traveling because everything is organized and in one place.
Hopefully, you have found the tips above helpful to your own needs. No doubt, you want to make the best of your time away from home! Apply the information provided the next time you go. Welcome to the world of travel! Your destination is awaiting you!
