The world is full of iconic sites and structures that end up making their way onto the bucket lists of people across the globe, but it seems that Paris has more than its fair share of those incredible places. It sounds clichéd, but there really is something for everyone in Paris, with most tourists almost immediately drawn to the Eiffel Tower. It is perhaps one of the most recognizable structures in the world, almost serving as a marker for the epicenter of the city, from which everything else seems to radiate. It’s an impossible building to escape, as even the smallest little pieces seem to be visible, no matter where you travel within Paris proper. While it is definitely the showcase attraction in Paris, it is by no means the only thing to see or do.
If it’s a little bit of history that you are after, then the Notre Dame cathedral is an absolute must see. It is an absolute joy to behold, both inside and out, and it also has the distinction of being free to visit, which is always a blessing for the weary traveler. Art is also very well represented in Paris. A stroll along the banks of the Seine will reveal a whole host of artists filling their canvases with their own take on the beautiful city. Of course, if it’s bigger name artists you are after, all you need to do is pay a visit to the Louvre in order to see the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and other stunning pieces of art.
Paris has long been known as a city of romance, and nothing captures that better than taking a leisurely trip down the Seine with your partner by your side. It is recommended that you do spate trips during the day and at night, as Paris looks a whole lot different when the sun goes down. You should also consider having a romantic dinner in one of the many world class restaurants food within the city. Most modern cuisine is built on the foundation of French techniques, so you might as well take the time to experience it from the people that brought food to the world.
There is much to see and do in Paris, and in order to take it all in, you will want to find accommodations that are central to all the great sights. You could go the hotel route, but why not instead opt for a home away from home type feeling by renting a holiday apartment. You will end up feeling as though you actually live in the city during your trip, which can only add to the magnificent experience you are sure to have while holidaying in Paris.
